A few options to try if installation is interrupted with "install requires admin rights".

  • Option 1: Temporary allocation of administrator privileges
    • System Preferences — Users & Groups — Unlock to make changes — Select „Allow user to administer this Computer“
    • Normal installation via „Install C-Pen Core.app“
    • Unset administrator privileges

  • Option 2: Try to install in Safe Mode
    • Reboot the MAC computer into Safe Mode (normally by pressing the Shift key while booting).
    • Locate the recently C-Pen Core dmg file, mount it if not already done, and then try to run the installer.

  • Option 3: Update installscript
    • Open the C-Pen Core dmg file
    • Drag and drop Install C-Pen Core app to the desktop
    • Right click on Install C-Pen Core.app and select Show Package Contents
    • Open Resources folder
    • Open installscript.plist
    • Locate the entry Root --> Require admin
    • Change value from TRUE to FALSE
    • Close and Save installscript.plist
    • Finally double click on Install C-Pen Core.app on the desktop and run it
