TS1 stops working after idle/standby

PC's turning of USB power while idle or standby may cause the TS1 to get disconnected.

If, after being idle for a while, the TS1 doesn't scan properly (i.e. no scan light) check the following:

  • Open the Device Manager and locate and open the entry Universal Serial Bus Controller (probably far down). Check subentries for USB Root Hub (ref. to attached images), right click on them one by one (if you have multiples) and chose PropertiesIn the new windows, click on the Power tab and check available power (circled in red in Windows_USB_Root_Hub_Power.png). 100mA per port is required minimum but we recommended port power to be higher, e.g. 500mA which is a standard value.

  • Next click on the Power Management tab and uncheck the option Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power (circled in red inWindows_USB_Root_Hub_PowerManagement.png).
