Checking dll errors with Dependency Walker

Modified on Fri, 28 May, 2021 at 10:13 AM

If C-Pen Core does not start up properly and Windows reports a dll error, first thing is to make a clean reinstall.

Should the problem persist, run a dependency check and report back to C-Pen Support for analysis.

These are the steps:

  1. Download Dependecy Walker http://www.dependencywalker.com/depends22_x64.zip
  2. Extract the files into a folder anywhere.
  3. Run Dependency Walker app (the .exe file extracted in #2)
  4. From within Depency Walker, open C:\Program Files\C-Pen\C-Pen Core\CPenCoreAPI.dll and then save the result and send us the saved file.
    • If no C-Pen folder is located under Program Files, check Program Files (x86).

C-Pen Core on Windows requires .NET 4.7.2, Media Framework and Visual C++ 2015-2019 redistributable.
